Cool track man, I like how you're experimenting with dissonance, offbeat rhythm and also tempo changes!

I think you could play with the dynamics (Velocity) of the piano to create more emotion. Also with tempo, you could map in some rubato like effects to increase the weight of certain phrases. There's some really nice melodies/harmony going on in this piece. Keep it up!

Nice one dude! Whenever I hear your tracks it makes me want to play guitar haha! I dunno why but sometimes your style reminds of the music from the anime One Punch if you've ever seen it. Started off very Vai and then towards the end it kind of felt Malmsteenish? Keep it up man!

KrinnValKhristi responds:

I don't get into anime much.

I remember watching Ninja Scroll annnnd... Cowboy Bebop. And I loved them, but when the anime series' starting getting too "sexualized" I stopped watching.

Vai and Malmsteen are definite influencers of mine. Vai is a jazz guy fundamentally and so am I, and Malmsteen has this BLINDING speed on the guitar.

Vai has the feels, Malmsteen has the dexterity (Although Vai is no slouch lol)

I have a lot of influences, but mostly John Petrucci, Vai, Malmsteen, Mayer, Eric Johnson, and Joe Satriani are my mentors. (at least in my head lol)

Diggin' this track! Very original. I like how it builds momentum into the bigger sections and then relaxes again. The Enya-esq vocal layering sounds awesome! The change at around 3:10 to what sounds like a phygrian dominant scale is a really cool use of parallel tonality.

I think the production is solid, perhaps could do with some cleaning here and there but overall is on point. Were the drums recorded live?

Really cool composition.

Troisnyx responds:

Yes, the drums were recorded live 💓 I still get frissons from how it turned out. Glad you enjoyed this one, thank you~

Nice! Loving the use of portamento to create a sweet melody line. I think I can hear some nice side-chaining going on there too? Awesome job! :)

FelixZophar responds:

Thank you man!

Awesome guitar skills! Makes me wanna pull out the electric and write some proggy rock stuff haha! I particularly like the end of this song, with the ambient high guitar parts. :) Who are your influences?

KrinnValKhristi responds:

Let's see... Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci (Especially him), Alex Lifeson, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, John Mayer, Slash, Eric Clapton, Guthrie Govan, Polini, Thom Yorke...

That is pretty much it.

I like all kinds of music though. ^_^

Thanks for listening! I hope you liked it.

Dreaming the nearly impossible dream of being a modern day composer.
